Prof. Ihsan Yilmaz — Biography

Prof. Ihsan Yilmaz is a Turkish academic and political scientist specializing in the intersections of law, religion, society, and politics. He currently serves as Research Chair of Islamic Studies and Intercultural Dialogue at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. He earned his PhD in law from SOAS, University of London in 1999, and has held academic positions at prominent institutions including the Center for Islamic Studies at the University of Oxford (as a research fellow, 1999–2001) and SOAS, University of London (lecturer in law, politics, and social sciences, 2001–2008).
