Luxembourg, April 2025 — Luxembourg University Press is proud to announce a major milestone for its Books Without Borders initiative. The first library established under this project has been successfully completed in South Egypt and is scheduled to open to the public in January 2026.
This library marks the beginning of a broader commitment to supporting access to knowledge in underserved regions. It will offer a wide range of educational and cultural resources to local communities, with a particular focus on children and youth. The facility will also serve as a space for reading programs, workshops, and community engagement activities.
Books Without Borders is dedicated to promoting literacy, learning, and cross-cultural understanding through the creation of inclusive library spaces in regions where access to books remains limited. The South Egypt library is the first in a series of planned libraries to be established in partnership with local educators and civil society groups.
